The trailer reveals more of what we can expect from Charlie Brooker‘s first flick – which is rumoured to involve five hours of footage – and guess what, it’s gonna make you uncomfortable.

The trailer features Fionn Whitehead as Stefan, a computer programmer in the ’80s, who is attempting to create an “adventure game” inspired by a massive fantasy novel, titled Bandersnatch. But the novel was written by Jerome F. Davies, a bloke who may have gone “cuckoo, and cut his wife’s head off“.

There is some dark juju there, back the fuck away Stefan. This is getting very sinister very fast.

When it’s a concept piece, a bit of madness is what you need,” suggests one of Stefan’s co-workers, who offers him pills (medicine???) he does not take. That doesn’t mean Stefan’s not definitely going mad here though, surrounded as he is by ’80s records and very detailed notes, as his actual and virtual realities begin to freakishly co-mingle. A woman on a glitchy TV screen notes: “Your fate has been dictated – you’re not in control,” and fuck lady, I’m already shitting myself.

God why is it that Frankie Goes to Hollywood‘s ‘Relax‘ can be used to SUCH sinister effect.

Change your mind. Change your life. Change your past. Change your future,” Bandersnatch‘s tagline cries, and then Stefan’s got a bloody knife, and I fkn warned you about the juju, lad.

Still, it does look like, thanks to a season three easter egg, the Bandersnatch game did ultimately come to fruition.

The flick also stars Alice Lowe, Craig ParkinsonAsim Chaudhry and Will Poulter.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch should be coming to your Netflix tomorrow, December 28. The fifth season of Black Mirror is expected to come out next year.
