A Whole Bunch Of Blindfolded Fans Are Flocking To The House From ‘Bird Box’

Bird Box

Much alike the invisible force of evil in Bird Box, the movie is completely taking over the people. Just think of all the memes you’ve seen on social media or that one insane challenge that is somehow a thing.

Now, the latest craze appears to be visiting the house of refuge featured in the movie. Blindfolded.

As you can imagine, it’s quite the yarn over in Los Angeles so if you want to see more piccies, head over to the Los Angeles Times.

We’re introduced to the stunning home quite early on in the movie when Douglas’ (John Malkovich) wife runs out to help Malorie (Sandra Bullock)… only to look at the thing and unfortunately set herself on fire.

Afterwards, a group of strangers take refuge in the home.

The house is located in the Los Angeles suburb of Monrovia and according to the homeowner, a whole bunch of fans have been rocking up to the house every day since the film’s release on December 21.

In fact, fans even flocked to the house on Christmas.

Speaking to TMZthe homeowner said everyone who had visited the house had been polite. Others had even knocked on her door to ask for permission first before going on their piccie spree.

But hey, at least none of them have been corrupted by the evil force.

Funnily enough, the homeowner hasn’t seen Bird Box and doesn’t intend to because she doesn’t have Netflix.

Meanwhile, the streaming giant was forced to issue an official warning after the Bird Box challenge went viral. In short, punters would go about their daily lives blindfolded for the laffs. It was just supposed to be a meme but of course, some people decided it would be funny to run into actual traffic.

Netflix US, or as their bio says ‘concerned dad’, tweeted: “Can’t believe I have to say this but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”

Good stuff.
