Sandra Bullock’s New Netflix Movie Has Major ‘A Quiet Place’ Vibes To It

Bird Box trailer

Earlier today, Netflix unleashed the trailer to their latest suspense-thriller-post-apocalyptic goodie by the name of Bird Box, based on the 2014 novel of the same name. Beautiful name – cheerful name, you might even say but the trailer? NOPE, BIG NOPE.

Sandra Bullock fronts the film as Malorie, the mother of two children who suddenly finds herself in the middle of a bloody shitstorm when a mysterious force begins to destroy the world’s population. Nothing is really known about this force apart from one thing: you see it, you die.

To survive, you must wear and never take off your blindfold.

With her two children, Malorie makes the decision to journey to the last place that may offer sanctuary but of course, it’s no easy trek. She, and her children, must travel bloody blindfolded and on foot on a two-day journey which includes somehow conquering a treacherous river.

Academy Award winner Susanne Bier helms the film. You might recognise her name from such titles as In A Better World and The Night Manager.

And then there’s the rest of the very excellent cast: Sarah goddamn Paulson, John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes, BD Wong, Machine Gun Kelly (Richard Colson Baker) and our very own Jacki Weaver.

Catch the full trailer below.

It’s like The Quiet Place BUT FOR YOUR FKN EYES. And honestly, I don’t know which one is worse because yes, not making any noise is very hard but so is trying your almighty hardest not to look at something.

NO BLOODY THANK YOU.

Bird Box will land on the streaming giant come December 21.

What a fantastic way to bring in the Christmas spirit.
