All The Amazing TV Mothers We Low-Key Wish Would Adopt Us, No Offence Mum

How good are mums though? The inspiring, powerful, nurturing women who we look up to all the damn time. And I don’t just mean the ones who gave birth to us.

There are loads of ladies on TV who we only wish were real so we could hunt them down and convince them to adopt us ‘coz whether they’re super maternal or just plain whacky, mums are bloody great.

Here, we’re celebrating all the mummas on Stan shows that we’d love to adopt us as their kiddies.

Kirsten Cohen (The O.C.)

We stan an intelligent, stylish, supportive but complex mother like Kirsten Cohen (Kelly Rowan).

Of all the characters on the show, Kirsten undergoes the biggest changes and even when she’s going through her absolute worst (AKA her struggles with alcoholism), her biggest motivation in life is her son, Seth.

And who could blame her? Seth is my world too (in a very different way), but I’m just saying that despite her flaws, Kirsten was always mum goals.

Plus she took Ryan in off the street so hopefully there’s room in the poolhouse for one more.

Sylvia Fine (The Nanny)

The eccentric, big-haired mother of Fran Fine may have been one of *those* mothers who constantly asks when you’re gonna get hitched and have kids and blah blah blah, but how fun would your family events be?

You’d rock up to Sylvia’s (Renée Taylor) gloriously kitschy apartment, sit on her plastic-covered couch and and listen to her hilarious ramblings about what she and Grandma Yetta have been up to.

And let’s not forget that thanks to her obsession with food, you’ve got all kinds of treats available to you at all time.

Monica Gellar (Friends)

Sadly we only get to see Monica (Courteney Cox) as a mother to her twin bbs for only a few short scenes in the final ep but when you think about it, she was kind of the mother of the group for the entire series.

She starts off by putting a roof over Rachel’s head after she leaves Barry at the altar and goes on to teach her how to cook, clean and function as an adult.

As she once put it, she’s “always the hostess”, cooking food and providing a lovely atmosphere for her comrades to exist in.

Heck, she even admits to being a total nag to Chandler which, although it may be an annoying quality, is an extremely motherly quality.

Piper Halliwell (Charmed)

She’s the only sister we see have children in the series (minus the finale, of course) and why’s that? Because Piper (Holly Marie Combs) is the best freaking mum on the planet, and I mean that literally.

In several of the show’s wacky storylines, Piper is turned into divine mother-like characters (the Goddess of Earth, Shiva the Ultimate Mother etc) because of her innate nurturing quality.

Plus with her amazing powers, she could freeze and blow up all your enemies for you. How sick would that be?

just like that

Edina Monsoon (Absolutely Fabulous)

Although her daughter Saffy often criticised her poor parenting, and she often had a point, I can’t help but feel like it’d be heaps fun to have Edina (Jennifer Saunders) as a mum.

I’d always be capturing her bumbling antics on my Instagram Story and I’d have an endless supply of bubbles at my disposal for whenever I’m in need of a drink.

I also reckon I’d do a way better job at getting along with Patsy as Saffy did.

Needless to say the three of us would have a good ol’ time.
