Iconic designer and beloved fashion personality Alexander McQueen’s funeral was today, but now if you’ll excuse me, I have an after-funeral party to attend: Zoolander 2 is officially in the works, so get prepped for another really really ridiculously goodlooking quote-fest. (Sigh. How many freaking times have you heard the ‘learning centre for ants’ line. Hilarious. Good one… dick.)
Ben Stiller is making the sequel with Justin Theroux (the writer behind Tropic Thunder) who will be co-writing the script and directing the film. In order to make sure it authentically captures the complex zeitgeist behind elite male modeling, Theroux will be attending Paris Fashion Week in early March to immerse himself in their elusive world.
Jonah Hill is going to play the villain which should be awesome – a fat person in the fashion world is always completely hilarious right? – but Will Ferrell’s amazing turn as Mugatu will be missed (“Todd, are you not aware that I get farty and bloated with a foamy latte?”). There has been no word yet as to whether Owen Wilson will be reprising his role as Hansel.
