Your Boy Leonardo DiCaprio Is Producing A TV Series For Showtime

Showtime, the network that brought you highly binge watch-able shows like Masters Of Sex, Homeland, Nurse Jackie and Shameless, has further upped its game, signing none other than your boy Leonardo DiCaprio on to develop a potential new drama series.
The as-yet-untitled show will take place in the seedy underbelly of Brooklyn in the 1980s, and be based around the world of organised crime. Per the official synposis:

The Brooklyn-set potential series follows a decade-long relationship between an unstable mafia captain and a rogue federal agent, each violating the strict codes of their respective organizations. The drama examines the power the Wall Street era had on the mafia and the FBI.
We’re picking up bits of The Departed from that summary, and bits of The Wolf Of Wall Street … chuck in a giant boat of some sort heading for an iceberg and we’re completely on board.
#NeverForget
DiCaprio, sadly, does not look likely to star in the project, but he’ll be executive producing, like Mark Wahberg with his bro-tastic HBO hit Entourage. Brett Johnson, who also works on Showtime’s Ray Donovan, will write and co-produce.
This is not the only TV project DiCaprio has on the go right now – his production company Appian Way recently signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix, for documentaries and docu-series with themes about conservation and nature.
