‘Wolf Creek’ Gets Six More Terrifying Hours In Stan Original Miniseries

Eight months after Stan kicked around the idea of launching a standalone Wolf Creek series, the streaming service have confirmed production has started on the new show.

Despite getting John Jarratt to sign on to the project as iconic Akubra-and-murder aficionado Mick Taylor, writer and director Greg McLean said the six-part series would differ from the horror film series as a sliiightly less grisly thriller.
In a coup for Stan, Aussie small-screen stars Deborah Mailman and Miranda Tapsell will also feature, alongside young gun Lucy Fry whose character, for some godforsaken reason, will rebuild her shattered existence by embarking on a mission of revenge”  against Australian film’s most famous mass-murderer. Solid plan, Luce.
You’ll have to wait until next year for the series, but since dropping a whole slab of content at once is du jour for streamers these days, you’ll be able to stare at this lovely mug for six hours straight when it happens.

Ripper.
The project mirrors the success of FX’s film-to-tv series Fargo, and the series – to be filmed in the South Australian bush, no less – could set a strong precedent for original dramatic streaming content being produced Down Under.
