As you might well be aware, the series of Marvel characters with their own shows on Netflix are being set up to come together for a miniseries event where they become the Defenders – essentially a much, much smaller-scale Avengers. While the Avengers are off saving the universe, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist swan around New York and fight gentrification or something like that.
Now we’ve got a teaser trailer and a release date. If the trailer – in which the team stand around in a Manhattan elevator, as seen by security footage – is anything to go by, we’ll be seeing The Defenders a little later in the year, on August 18.
I’d like to say I worked that out based on the fact the timestamp reads 08:18:20:17, but it’s also in the description of the vide on YouTube.
This could be a good one. As you’ve no doubt seen, Iron Fist hasn’t exactly been getting glowing reviews, but the other three Marvel Netflix series range from pretty damn good to pretty great – so this might be a bit of alright.
