Fans of blood-splatter and the crisp sound of a shattering fibia, rejoice: The Punisher is officially getting his own stand-alone Netflix series, after wreaking havoc in Hell’s Kitchen in season 2 of Daredevil.
Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, the hardest motherfucker in the Marvel universe, in the sixth Marvel-Netflix tag-team series after Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
And you better believe the skull-clad skull-crusher is pumped about it, too.

Steve Lightfoot of Hannibal fame will serve as showrunner and director of the first two eps, adding to the series’ delightfully gory pedigree.
No release date has been set for the series, but you can probably expect Castle and his mad arsenal to pop up in and around Marvel’s ever-growing television universe in the meantime.
