The Taylor Swift/Kanye West/Kim Kardashian-West drama over the lyric in Ye‘s song ‘Famous’ that has unfolded has been brilliant fodder for say, pop culture websites. Oh, and late night show hosts.
Host of the ‘The Late Late Show’ in the UK, James Corden, has chimed into the debate, not with words or opinions, but via the delicate art of parody.
He’s lampooned the leaked phone call that proved that Taylor did in fact know about Yeezy‘s lyric about her in ‘Famous’. He plays on the fact that Ye records pretty much everything he does, which includes ‘private’ phone calls.
Corden also toys with the fact that Tay‘s private life is extremely, insanely non-private – which, by now, most have realised is by choice:
“Taylor Swift? Isn’t she mad at you from when you interrupted her on the stage at the VMAs?I don’t even know if she’s with someone right now. I could check on the internet, but she’s super-private about that kind of stuff. She really doesn’t let people know what’s going on with her personal life, so if I was you, I would just let it go.”
