The Full Taylor Swift And Kanye West Phone Call Leaked And Swifties Are Feeling Vindicated

Taylor Swift, Kanye West

The Taylor Swift and Kanye West drama will truly outlive us all, and this weekend, we have a major new development, after someone leaked a full video of their infamous 2016 phone call.

The call concerned Kanye’s soon-to-be-released song ‘Famous‘, which included a derogatory lyric about Swift – “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”

When the song came out, Taylor objected to the line, and Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian published a heavily edited excerpt from the call, that made it seem like she actually gave her approval.

The full video, released overnight, tells a different story.

It does show Kanye asking Taylor Swift to approve a lyric, but it’s not the one that ended up on the album, and does not include the line “I made that bitch famous.”

Variety published a transcript of the phone call, and ‘Famous’ is discussed early on.

Kanye says he’s going to be releasing some real “Apple, Steve Jobs-type music”, and asks Taylor to Tweet ‘Famous’ out on launch day, while mentioning that it includes a “controversial” line about her.

When she asks what this line is, he skates around it for a minute, name-dropping famous colleagues and talking about his creative process. After all the build-up, she asks sadly if the line is going to be “mean”.

He finally tells her that the line is “I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex”, and she seems relieved, that the line is not as “mean” as she thought it would be. She later says:

“I’m glad it’s not mean, though. It doesn’t feel mean. But oh my God, the buildup you gave it, I thought it was going to be like, “That stupid, dumb bitch.” But it’s not. So I don’t know. I mean, the launch thing, I think it would be kind of confusing to people. But I definitely like… I definitely think that when I’m asked about it, of course I’ll be like, “Yeah, I love that. I think it’s hilarious.” But, um, I need to think about it.”

The leaked video has sent social media into overdrive, with Taylor Swift fans Tweeting out in support of her, and the fact that she was truthful about the contents of the phone call.

We both eagerly and wearily await the next development in this never-ending saga.
