Deadpool made a pretty staggering amount of money – in fact, it’s officially the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, and with a worldwide gross of nearly $780 million, it’s made more than any X-Men film so far.
It makes total sense, then, that Fox would be grasping any possible promotional opportunity they can, which is why Deadpool features so prominently in the new Japanese trailer for X-Men Apocalypse, even though he doesn’t appear in the film itself.
Ryan Reynolds‘ signature character drops in for a surprise appearance at around the 2:30 mark of the video below, for some fourth wall-breaking jokes about post-credits scenes, and general snarky commentary.
Deadpool is going to be exhausting by the time Fox runs his schtick into the ground with sequel after sequel, but let’s just enjoy him while we can and try not to think about that too much:
