Do you have a love of the Star Wars franchise AND $10 burning a hole in your pocket? Great news: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams has just announced a competition that could get you on the set of the new film.
As part of an initiative called Star Wars: Force For Change, a lucky fan will be able to visit the London studios where the new film’s being made, meet cast-members and be transformed by the film’s makeup and costume teams for a cameo appearance.
The initiative raises money for UNICEF and is run through Omaze, which works something like Kickstarter combined with a lottery. $10 buys you a single entry (and the title of “Supporter”), while higher funding tiers deliver guaranteed rewards & more entries. The highest – Jedi Grand Master of the Order – costs $50,000 and gets you an advance private screening of Star Wars: Episode VII in or near your hometown and 5000 entries in the competition.
