Waleed Aly Goes Head To Head With Steve Price On ‘Sabotaging Greenies’

Not having access to a Government official to interview about yet-to-be-drafted government legislation should probably be the red flag for cutting a segment on a nightly news show altogether – rather than ringing in a shock jock for the sake of an on air spat.

Turns out, that logic did not apply on The Project last night, as host Waleed Aly locked horns with conservative broadcaster Steve Price over the increasingly controversial laws surrounding major mining projects—and environmental groups who have taken umbrage with proposed legislation changes—such as the Carmichael coal mine in Queensland.

Price argued that the Adani mine would create “between 1500 and 10,000 jobs“; Waleed Aly disputed that figure – and it went downhill from there, perhaps peaking when Price told Aly, “Go build a few windmills then.”
