The Umbrella Academy season 3 has unveiled the new faces of The Sparrow Academy, and it includes a telekinetic cube named Christopher. Christopher the cube.
To hastily sum up the season 2 cliffhanger in a sentence or two would be sacrilege, but I’m going to do it anyway. If you want the long version – my thoughts and theories (and spoilers) – you can read it all here.
Long story short: it appears the Umbrella Academy’s successful efforts to stop the nuclear war in 1960s Dallas in season 2 has altered reality as they know it. Turns out time-travelling to the past, speaking to your future adoptive father, and showing him how messed up his future family are is not a good idea.
As a result, Daddy has switched out the Umbrella Academy for the Sparrow Academy, an alternate version of the superhero siblings. And Netflix has just unveiled the cast members who will play them.
Oh, and Ben (Justin H. Min), formerly a ghost for two seasons, is now alive and part of the Sparrow Academy.
Like the Umbrella Academy, the Sparrow Academy involves seven members… including the floating cube. They’re all numbered too.
Sparrow No. 1: Marcus
Justin Cornwell will play Marcus, who Netflix describes as a natural born leader who oozes confidence. He is the glue that holds the family together, who is “equally as charming as he is chiseled and colossus.” Their words, not mine!
No. 2: Ben
Justin H. Min will reprise his role as Ben, but not as we know him. Ben is no longer the sweet, sensitive ghost who sacrificed his, uh, ghostly self to save Vanya (Elliot Page).
“This Ben is scheming, tactical, vicious, and determined to gain his status as leader,” Netflix announced.

No. 3: Fei
Britne Oldford will star as Fei, who sees the world in a special way.
Her description: “She’s typically the smartest person in the room and willing to negotiate – yet, once you cross her, there’s no turning back.”
No. 4: Alphonso
Jake Epstein will play Alphonso, the fourth Sparrows member. He is a “scarred crime-fighter with a caustic and biting sense of humour, who enjoys verbally berating his enemies, almost as much as he enjoys a good pizza and a six-pack of beer.”
Sounds like a hoot.
No. 5: Sloane
Genesis Rodriguez will star as Sloane, a romantic dreamer eager to see the world beyond the academy.
“Even though she feels tied down to her family, Sloane has plans of her own… she may just act on them,” reads her description. Intriguing.
No. 6: Jayme
Cazzie David (!!!!!!!) will play Jayme, who is described as a “loner with a fear-inducing snarl you’d be wise to avoid at all costs.”
Jayme doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to.
No. 7: Christopher
Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube, a newcomer to the industry, will play Christopher.
Christopher is a telekinetic cube that can induce fear without warning and turn the room freezing cold.
Christopher is trustworthy and loyal, and treated as just another sibling.
