Once a year hundreds of would-be James Camerons descend on Melbourne, striving to catch their big break and move away from the stigma of “bedroom film maker”. It can only mean one thing – it’s Tropfest time. The world’s largest short film festival will return this month to the glorious surroundings of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The free event will showcase the 16 finalists who had the artistry and genius to swing the judges in their favour. Tropfest is a dream factory for movie buffs and armchair critics alike.
