Watch The Winning Short Of TropFest 2013

Last night the 21st annual Tropfest film festival screened before a crowd of thousands at Sydney’s The Domain, where Victorian writer-director Nicholas Clifford was named the winner of a $10,000 cash prize and trip to Los Angeles for his film We’ve All Been There. Clifford’s short, an ode to human empathy and karmic recoupment, also took out the Best Actress category for the lead performance by Laura Wheelright who plays a waitress in need of quick cash to save her home – kind of like The Goonies in The Goonies.

Sam Worthington presented Clifford with his victors trophy (the legendary Tropfest bowl of fruit), after announcing the second and third place recipients Better Than Sinatra by Jefferson Grainger and Punctured by Nick Baker and Tristan Klein, respectively.

Watch Clifford’s winning short below, produced by Michael Ciccone, James Meldrum Wright and Bridget O’Shea.
