Treat The Grammar Nerd In Your Life To The Coke Sign’s Still-Avail Hyphen

With the news coming through this morning that the original Kings Cross Coke Sign, which has silently stood over the sinful acts of generations of Sydneysiders during its 42-year vigil, has been officially auctioned off, giant-soft-drink-corporation-sign-aficionados have good reason to be upset if they missed out on scoring one of those giant rusty letters for their warehouse-sized living spaces (srsly, those things are fkn YUGE, we visited them last week).
Well fret-not, weirdo collectors, as there is still a glimmer of hope for your next ludicrous homeware inclusion, and that shiny glimmer takes the shape of the motherflippin’ HYPHEN that no one obviously wanted/they just remembered they had to get rid of.
Fuck yeah, where all my hyphen fans at?!?! Lemme hear you make some grammatically-correct, linked-together noise!!!
Get pumped, ya Antiques Roadshow loving punks!
Whilst the individual letters of ye olde Coke Sign fetched around $10k each at the auction which closed last night, hyphen-a-holics won’t need to be pulling out the wallet to win this scintillating four-decade old rhombus, instead you’ll be whipping out YOUR HEART!
Figuratively speaking, of course, you’ll need to comment on their Facebook page regaling them with a choice time you gave back to your community, like a big ol’ legend.
So if you’re looking for that next great bookend for your many leather-bound volumes, want a killer pressie for the next wedding you go to where they choose to hyphenate their surnames, or perhaps you’re apart of the elaborate conspiracy I just made up, in which Mike Baird’s final Horcrux is actually INSIDE the Coke Sign hyphen and you’d like to help me destroy it once and for all, then make like the first episodes of The Voice and whip out your sob stories about when you saved a kitten from a flood or something, idk.
The winner and proud owner of literally an old metal square, will be announced prior to the brand new, energy-efficient LED Coca-Cola sign getting lit af this Thursday evening.
