The First Look At The Great S2 Reminds Me Contraception Used To Be Just A Lemon Up The Vag

The Great

Elle Fanning has blessed us mere peasants with a first look at The Great season 2, and I am delighted to announce/remind you all that Catherine is very much with child. Turns out popping a lemon slice up there doesn’t work, after all. Who knew?!

Just two months after season 1 premiered last year, Stan officially announced The Great had been renewed for a second season. That was way back in July though, and now we finally have a peek at what’s to come next.

“Cooking up something special for season 2,” Fanning captioned a picture of herself in character.

Before I read the caption I thought Elle Fanning was announcing her pregnancy in a very fun way. I was a tad wrong.

The stunning and hilarious series is a satirical dramedy about the rise of Catherine the Great, played by Fanning, from outsider to the longest-reining female ruler in Russia’s history.

Season 1 also starred Nicolas Hoult as the aggressively terrible Peter III, Phoebe Fox as Marial, Sebastian de Souza as Leo, Sacha Dhawan as Orlo, and Adam Godley as Archie.

Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Bayo Gbadamosi, and Belinda Bromilow co-star.

This is neither here nor there, but I’m going through The Great‘s Instagram now and I forgot how many zingers are in this show.

GOOD STUFF.

Anywho, The Great has racked up a bunch of nominations this past week or so. The series has been nominated for three gongs at the Golden Globes this year, including best television actor for Hoult, best television actress for Fanning, and best musical/comedy series.

Not to mention the nominations from the SAG Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Emmys.

You truly do love to see it.

The Great season 1 is streaming now on Stan.

We’ll let you know when the streaming service announces a premiere date for season 2.

HUZZAH.
