The End Is Nigh, Janoskians Land Lionsgate Movie Deal

In a terrifying entertainment development signalling the impending destruction of the human race, Youtube prank troupe The Janoskians are making a movie, per Deadline.

If you aren’t a fourteen year old girl with terrible taste in Tumblr crushes, Janoskian stands for Just Another Name Of Silly Kids In Another Nation and first came to existence in Melbourne three years ago. Thanks in part to their inability to feel shame and masterful execution of infantile gross out stunts the minds behind comedic masterpieces such as masturbating in public, harassing elderly tourists and shitting in urinals gained an extensive online following, their current social media numbers at a staggering 1.5 million Youtube subscriptions, 1.23 million Twitter followers, over 900,000 Facebook fans and over 200 million Youtube views.
They have since parlayed that massive online following into a Live Nation backed world tour, a clothing brand called Dirty Pig, a record deal with Sony Music Australia and Republic Records, a smartphone game called Ouch! Couch, and now, a film deal with Lionsgate.

The narrative of the partially scripted feature length comedy film will revolve around the group’s struggles to adjust to life in Los Angeles and their mission to throw “the most epic party ever”, offering ample opportunity to be reckless assholes of the highest order and film the worst behaviour you’ve ever seen in a food court.

According to Deadline: “Comedian Dan Ahdoot will write and Danny Lee (Road To Brooklyn) will direct, and the film will be produced by Awesomeness TV CEO and Smallville‘s Brian Robbins along with Jeremy Skaller, latter of whom manages the troupe.”
Lionsgate are shooting for a multi-film franchise not too dissimilar to Jackass.
The group consists of Melbourne brothers Beau, Jai and Luke Brooks as well as Daniel Sahyounie and James Yammouni.

Said Beau: “In our wildest dreams we never thought we would end up working with a company like Lionsgate. They take risks, break rules and make epic movies. We can’t wait to take our pranks and jokes to the next level. We know we are lucky, and we will make the most of it, we promise you.”

We wonder what the next level past this is?
