The A+ Chiwetel Ejiofor To Sharpen His Claws As Scar In ‘Lion King’ Redo

As if the casting for the live-action Lion King remake couldn’t get any more perfect, Academy Award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor is reportedly in talks to voice the dastardly childhood-ruiner Scar.

The Hollywood Reporter claims the 12 Years A Slave, Children Of Men, and Love Actually actor is set to join Donald Glover, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, James Earl Jones, and John Oliver (and maybe, maybe Beyoncé) in Jon Favreau’s upcoming flick.

That’s grouse, ’cause you only need to hear him say anything to recognise his mellifluous tone would be a pretty decent fit for the role of Simba’s treacherous uncle.

If Ejiofor ends up with the role, he’ll find himself taking over from the good-as-hell Jeremy Irons. We know you know how excellent Irons was, but goddamn, it’s still worth taking a few minutes out of your day get reacquainted with Be Prepared.

The film is slated for a July 2019 release, and frankly, that’s not soon enough.
