John Oliver Cast As Zazu In ‘The Lion King’ Remake & Holy Shit It’s Perfect

The live-action remake of The Lion King, already the most perfectly-casted film in recent memory, has just added John Oliver to its ranks to voice the snotty hornbill Zazu.

We know, we know: nobody on Earth is more qualified to take over the role from the haughty Rowan Atkinson, yet Disney came the hell through.

The Brit, perhaps best known for his shouty turn hosting HBO’s Last Week Tonight, will be joining Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner as Pumbaa and Timon, respectively.
While you imagine that cacophany of instantly-recognisable voices, we think it’s worth mentioning Oliver’s arrival will make Lion King a miniature Community reunion.
Once again, Oliver’s character will be pestering Donald Glover, but the latter’s Troy Barnes will be substituted for none other than Simba.
Jon Favreau’s Lion King is expected to premiere in mid-2019.
