Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen Set To Play Timon & Pumbaa In ‘Lion King’ Remake

In goddamn momentous news, your raspy-voiced bro Seth Rogen and relentless street pesterer Billy Eichner are in final talks to play Pumbaa and Timon, respectively, in the live-action The Lion King remake.

If your six-year-old self were here right now, they’d be stoked, too.

The Wrap reports those two chuckleheads are all but confirmed to play the second- and third-best characters in Jon Favreau’s reimagining, which will also feature none other than Donald Glover as Simba.

For what it’s worth, Zazu is the best character. We will not tolerate any opinions to the contrary.

Disney has also announced the new flick will hit screens on July 19, 2019. That’s damn near 25 years since the OG animation’s release, which is a horrifying concept, but we’re somewhat relieved the best meerkat and warthog combo of our childhood will still be rock-solid in two year’s time.
