The old MacRobertson’s choc factory in Fitzroy is absolutely decking the shit out of the halls from November 10 to December 23 for the first-ever Christmasland, providing a beautiful central meeting point for folks trying to do a family Xmas card on the cheap, screaming children, and overwhelmed influencers. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmasland is all about tapping back into the wonders of Chrissys past – when waking up at 5am to tear into the loungeroom and shake every present to figure out its contents was top priority, and taking a whole-family nap in various spots around the house by 3pm is as traditional as the trifle on the table.

Sugar Republic have a whole lot up their sleeves for this big return to their home digs in Fitzroy, and it includes 10 immersive spaces dedicated to the sweetness of Christmas – sliding into pools of big puffy marshmallows, a Nice room and a Naughty room (I know where I’ll be tbh), oodles of faux-snow to catch, ugly-ass sweaters, and the Big Man In Red himself.
