YAS: RuPaul’s Drag Race Is Revealing Its Aussie Queens On Stan’s Mardi Gras Float This Weekend

Stan Original RuPaul's Drag Race Stan

My GOD it’s finally happening everyone, hold onto your wigs and try not to break any high heels we know exactly when the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will be ru-vealed. The queens of the new Stan series are sashaying into the Mardi Gras Parade in Sydney on March 6, and nothing is more perfect than this.

Rumour has it there’ll be ten queens competing on the first season, including three Kiwis and seven Aussies, and we now have official confirmation from Stan that there will be eight episodes.

For those of you who aren’t Drag Race superfans like I am, this isn’t really surprising given the fact that the first UK season had eight episodes as well. Given the fact that the UK seasons have been considered some of the best seasons of Drag Race ever, we’re just hoping that the Aussie one will match up. (It will, obviously, and I am so ready for the world to see what we’ve got.)

If you don’t believe us for some reason, Michelle Visage herself has even announced the fact that the official cast will be parading down on a float during this Saturday’s Mardi Gras festivities. God, she’s gonna be judging AUSTRALIANS on a world-renowned television show. My brain cannot contain its excitement at the idea.

Check out the clip below.

Drag Race is so much more than dips, glamour and gags,” says Mardi Gras CEO Albert Kruger in a statement.

Drag Race has been pioneering queer voices and providing a platform for queer stories in the mainstream for over 10 years. That sort of visibility goes so far in helping foster understanding and acceptance of LGBTQI+ people all over the world.”

There’s no confirmation date just yet as to when the season will air, but I’ll take whatever I can get my manicured hands on.

In the meantime, you can catch the currently running seasons (yes, seasons) of Drag Race over on Stan.
