The 9 Iconic Aussie Drag Queens We Reckon Are Set To Shantay The Drag Race Down Under Runway

RuPauls Drag Race Down Under Queens Cast

It’s happening girls, gays and theys: we are now officially getting RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under from Stan, and it will be swinging onto our screens THIS year. I truly do not know if I can stand the wait, and even thinking about the KangaRu puns has me bursting with excitement.

But the question on everyone’s lips is, who on Earth is going to star on the brand new series? This will be the first time that Aussie drag queens will get swarms of international eyes on them (apart from Courtney Act of course,) so obviously, we have to get the best of the best to compete for the crown, right?

Last week there was a heap of speculative tea spilled about the season, including rumours that the hilarious Rhys Nicholson will be a guest judge, and that there are officially nine Aussies and two Kiwis. You truly love to see it.

Take a peek at the official announcement trailer and let’s get speculating as to who is on season one!

Karen From Finance

Karen from Finance is basically confirmed to be on the first season, but don’t ask her any questions because that NDA is probably SIGNED, baby.

What makes us so sure of her appearance? Well, she’s beloved by many American queens, and has even appeared a couple of times on streaming service WOW Presents, which showcases a whole smorgasbord of drag queen content in the US.

Art Simone

The second queen to be basically confirmed is Art Simone, whose last post is this cheeky little racing flag outfit with a racing flag emoji. RuPaul’s Drag RACE perhaps? We definitely think so.

Felicia Foxx

Nothing would warm our hearts more than Felicia Foxx appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under (and then taking the crown home.) When you think of Aussie drag you should immediately think of Felicia, and if she isn’t on season one then she better be on season two dammit!

Prozac

Drag Race always chucks in a wild makeup queen to mix things up with the standard beauties, which makes Prozac a brilliant choice. Club queens from Melbourne? Yes, please.

Coco Jumbo

The rumours are in full force for Coco Jumbo to make an appearance, and I for one would love to see it.

Vanity

Vanity makes extraordinary wigs for almost all of your favourite drag queens including RuPaul, so it would only make sense for her to appear on the first season of Drag Race with her amazing sets of hair.

Etcetera Etcetera

Etc Etc is pretty much a household name when it comes to Aussie drag. Whether she’s on the first season of Drag Race Down Under or not is still a mystery, but we have a feeling she will be making a very strong appearance.

Scarlett Fever

A fierce Aussie queen who we want to see on our screens. The drag? Polished. The look? On point. Let’s get this queen on that well-lit runway immediately.

Tora Hymen

An iconic name and an iconic face. If you don’t know Tora Hymen by now then prepare to be delighted. Not long ago she posted that she was taking a social media break for a while to ‘head to the bush’. Sounds like an NDA way of saying “I’m off to film Drag Race” to me.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is expectedly to premiere on Stan, late 2021.
