A Heap Of Tea Was Just Spilled About RuPaul’s Drag Race Australia So Start Your Engines & Sip

Well it looks like that little rumour about RuPaul hosting the Australian RuPaul’s Drag Race is pretty much confirmed, and it also looks like Michelle Visage will be joining her on the panel.

Speaking on my favourite tea-spilling podcast So Dramatic! ,winner of Big Brother 2012 Ben Norris had all the hot-goss about the upcoming Australian season of Drag Race.

Just last week, a source told New Zealand Express that RuPaul had arrived in NZ for filming (as that’s where it’s being filmed this season). On the podcast, Ben confirmed that RuPaul had indeed touched down, as well as Michelle Visage.

“I can 100% confirm that they both arrived yesterday and they are being kept under wraps,” he told So Dramatic! host Megan Pustetto.

Ben also addressed the other BIG question on everyone’s lips, and that is who will be joining them on the panel?

“There’s been a lot of gay comedians auditioning for the role to be on the panel,” Ben said.

“A lot of people speculating, is it Joel Creasey, Josh Thomas, Tom Ballard…Well, it’s actually Rhys Nicholson.”

For those who aren’t familiar with Rhys, he’s an Aussie comedian known for his filthy and sharp wit. So he’s basically perfect for the show. Ru also shared Rhys’ Netflix comedy special on Twitter, which pretty much confirms it, right??

This year’s selection of queens will apparently include nine Australians and two Kiwis: two of those are big-name Drag stars Art Simone and Karen from Finance.

“I can 100% confirm that both of those queens will be competing to be winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Australia,” Ben said.

“They’ve all signed NDA’s,” he added.

So will Courtney Act be making an appearance?? To put it bluntly: “Absolutely not, it will never happen,” Ben said.

Speaking to Megan, Ben told her this is because of the drama between Courtney and Ru. To put it straightly (wink), Ben said the feud is very similar to that of Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.

OOFT the tea. If you want more, you can listen to So Dramatic! here.

You can also listen to Ben Norris’ podcast TV RELOAD here.

It’s rumoured that Stan will be streaming the Aussie/NZ version of the huge show (which makes sense because it already has the original, All Stars, Celebrity, UK, Holland, and Thailand versions), and you can sip on all the tea in the Untucked Lounge while we wait for Drag Race down under to drop.
