Sriracha Factory Closed Due To “Offensive” Odours

The Irwindale, California food plant that manufactures the condiment they serve in heaven – Sriracha hot sauce – has been partially shut down and may yet face further legal action in court after a Los Angeles judge ruled Tuesday in favour of nearby cry baby residents who complained of a noxious red pepper gas that was apparently giving them health problems.

The judge, despite acknowledging a “lack of credible evidence” definitively attributing residents’ complaints of “burning eyes, irritated throats and headaches” to the factory’s chill emissions, determined the odour could still be “reasonably inferred to be emanating from the facility” and was “extremely annoying, irritating and offensive to the senses warranting consideration as a public nuisance.”

In response, the court ordered the cult, all purpose culinary band-aid’s parent company Huy Fong Foods to cease any operation that might be causing the odour, and #8;make immediate changes that might mitigate them.

City officials, who clearly care more about the health and welfare of their constituents than the ability of university students who can’t cook to enhance their shitty meals with the kiss of a thousand sunsets, applauded the decision.

“We believe it’s a strong ruling that acknowledges and is reflective
of the concerns that the community has raised about the health impacts
of the odor,”
said City Atty. Fred Galante.

We’re happy for you, Irwindale. We really are. Seriously. But what does it mean for us?

Huy Fong Foods founder David Tran has said previously that a price rise would be in store if the factory was forced to shut down, halt production or make amendments – either extensive, expensive or time consuming – to their manufacturing process. So a price rise is probably imminent. Which I guess is a small price to pay to ensure that other human beings on the other side of the world don’t have to live in constant fear of a toxic chill cloud.
