Supreme Legend Sophie Monk Is Reportedly Jumping Ship To Host ‘Love Island’

Take as many grains of salt as you need for this one, folks. But it’s 100% huge if true: Sophie Monk, our most beloved of bog rats, is reportedly set to step in as host for the long-overdue Australian incarnation of tropical root parade Love Island.

The source of the yarn is NW, hence the grain-of-salting needed, but the news lines up with a whole mess of whispers that have been floating around ever since Channel Nine announced the local version of the show in early October.

A potential move to hosting the series has been complicated somewhat by Monk’s contract at Channel Ten, where she starred in this year’s recently-wrapped series of The Bachelorette, to much fanfare and adoration.

If the new gig is true, then that would mean Nine and Ten have come to an agreement on Monk’s existing contract, freeing her up to jet off to paradise and preside over a resort’s worth of extremely horny people.

A finer candidate for host there ne’er was. Not only because she’s got the confidence and ability to carry the show by herself, but also because of the endlessly glorious reactions we’ll be getting when things inevitably go completely bung.

Aww yeah. That’s the good gear right there.

Love Island Australia is set to arrive on screens at some point in 2018. Get ready.
