Sophie Monk Urges Georgia Love To “Be Kind” Following ‘Love Island’ Snub

Turns out host Sophie Monk has got the backs of her ream of tanned Adonises flitting lustily around Majorca/ the contestants on Love Island: after one-time Bachelorette/TV reporter Georgia Love slammed Australia‘s new reality TV guilty pleasure as “absolutely abhorrent” on Twitter last night, Monk took it upon herself to ask a fellow woman looking for love in a hopeless place (on TV in front of millions of viewers) to be kind.

The two women who themselves each experienced the discomfort of getting to choose between a bunch of handsome dudes vying desperately for their attention ended up politely hashing out their difference of opinion, Monk at first urging Love not to judge the group – after all, Love Island‘s different because there’s other women on the show, and “Beauty within shines always.”

Love then backed up, saying she’s not judgy at all, and is totally pro people making the choice to go on telly to find love, but was “just really disappointed by how it felt as if the girls were simply pieces of meat“, before admitting she didn’t watch more than ten minutes of the show.

She then boasted about certainly not wearing a bikini on The Bachelorette (okay? You wore a one-piece instead, good job???), so Monk just referred back to her original point: “All I’m saying is we can’t judge. They’re going through what we did but harder. Let’s be kind and women just back each other.”

TRUUUUUUUUUE THAT.

Monk’s not the only one unconvinced by Love’s disgust, with fans pointing out that a former Bachelorette ain’t so different to these Love Island guys and gals – and at least she couldn’t be voted out by fans.

Anyway it’s Monday night so of course Love Island is on – time to see whether or not the gals and guys chose the right nearly naked counterpart with whom they’ll compete for cash/glory/love/just an excuse to stay on the island and catch some more rays. So much potential for DRAMA already.
