In stupefying casting news confirming it’s not what you know but who your Daddy is and how many private islands you own, lockout exploiting Sydney businessman (also, business, man), super rich dude and alleged Miranda Kerr paramour James Packer has enlisted some of Hollywood’s brightest stars to star in a short film promoting the imminent arrival of his and Hong Kong business partner Lawrence Ho’s movie themed Macau resort, Studio City.
To promote their venture, Packer has enlisted Academy Award winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Gangs Of New York) to helm a short film which presumably might detail the many ways in which gambling can enrich your life and make you look cool from a script penned by award-winning Wolf Of Wall Street scribe and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter and starring consummate Hollywood nobodies now in possession of bulging hessian sacks with giant dollar signs on them, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
Not much else is known about the project except that it will clearly cost a buttload, commenced shooting in New York City yesterday and will premiere sometime in 2015 at the casino’s grand opening where we can only assume that a whole bunch of this will be happening.
