Since Mariah Carey and James Packer began cavorting happily around the Mediterranean a week or two ago, with even the appearance of a wild Jodhi Meares insufficient to kill their buzz, rumours have been circulating that they will tie the knot.
It’s just like the old saying goes, really – first come paps, then comes marriage, then comes a new heir to the vast Packer media empire riding in a carriage.
“Our Mariah sources* say it’s insane,” TMZ recently said of their impending marriage. (* JOB GOALS: Become a Mariah source).
“They’ve been “dating” for just a matter of days, but he’s already told her he wants to marry her, sooner rather than later. The soonest can be when she’s officially divorced from Nick Cannon. But we’re told Mariah is open to tying the knot with James.”
While #YachtLife is clearly agreeing with Mariah, the pair recently stepped ashore in Jerusalem, where Packer, perhaps not coincidentally, has reportedly “forged close ties with a spiritual adviser” to whom he feels “very connected.”
Packer is hoping that his plan to wed Mariah will receive a “blessing” from said spiritual adviser, “They will be married soon,” another Mariah source told Hollywood Life, with a level of certainty that’s frankly a little bit creepy.
After Israel, Packer is reportedly planning to bring Carey to Sydney, to meet his mum Roslyn Packer. We’ll keep a constant vigil.
