Roxy Jacenko’s Book Scrapped And Reprinted After Highly Unfortunate Error

PR queen Roxy Jacenko has had the entire first run of her new book scrapped and reprinted after a number of proofreaders missed an extremely unfortunate error on the back cover.

Roxy’s Little Black Book of Tips and Tricks, a guide to branding and social media, features an endorsement from radio host Jackie O, which originally read as something of a back-handed compliment:

“Roxy never fails to disappoint and this book is an easy, interesting read that people in a lot of professions (not just PR) could learn something from.”

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the famed publicist said that up to six different proofreaders missed the error, and it was only picked up by a friend who received an early copy.

“Without question it’s a nightmare and not something anyone wants to happen,” she said. “It’s a fuck-up, but Jackie’s a friend and it certainly should have said, ‘Roxy never fails to deliver’.” I mean, you would hope so, right?

Publishers Allen & Unwin have taken responsibility for the stuff-up, blaming it on a “proofing error made by our editorial department”, and have footed the bill for a new print run with an updated and corrected quote.

The new Roxy Jacenko-authored tome will be out November 28.

Earlier this year, publishers Pan Macmillan had to hurriedly scrap an entire chapter on romance advice from Nick Cummins‘ new book after his disastrous run on The Bachelor

They also had to change the original title of The Honey Badger’s Guide To Life (And Love), removing the ‘And Love’, as it likely wouldn’t have gone down too well after the show’s finale.
