Cat & Alisha Told Us What Really Went Down W/ That Whole Tenille / Romy Fight

Nothing’s been more talked about when it comes to reality TV this week quite like THAT Tenille/Romy argument on Bachelor 2018.

Quick back-story. Tenille had a first date with Nick Cummins. They kissed, even though Tenille expressed a hesitancy about kissing on the first date. Romy then confronts her at the cocktail party because, allegedly, she’d made some remarks about kissing on the first date being “gross”, and Romy didn’t feel it was respectful to give details about her kiss to the rest of the mansion. Tenille got upset, ran off, broke down in tears, and the entire internet went IN on Romy, Cat and Alisha over the incident.

We sat down to chat to the now-evicted Cat and Alisha, and they reckon (much like Rihannon, btw) shit was WAY more complicated than “Romy’s a bitch, bye”.

So the back-story was centred around some stuff Tenille said to Romy after her first date with Nick, aka the ear-mauling incident. As Alisha says, Tenille actually went in on Romy a bit.

When Romy originally came back from her date, back in episode 2 or 3, she’d really given Romy a hard time and made it very known to the house that she thought it was pretty classless and disgusting to kiss on the first date, and to talk about it.

And then there’s what happened before Romy confronted Tenille. We saw some of Tenille describing her kiss, but apparently it was way more MA-rated than it seemed?

“Tenille had a single date with Nick, she came back and she shared very intimate details about their kiss and the fact they were moaning, to the extent that she actually acted it out in front of the girls,” said Cat.

“There were a bunch of girls [in the group she was talking to] who had had single dates, and they were really starting to develop some real feelings,” continued Alisha. “If anything, me and Cat who sort of hadn’t gotten that deep with him, we were like “oh cool, tell us the dirty details” but the majority of the house was really quite upset.”

So for starters – Romy wasn’t the only one who was miffed. Like Rhiannon said, the entire mansion was kinda pissed at Tenille’s hypocrisy. Cat even reckons no one was speaking to her after the over-share.

Yeah, from then on everyone was pretty annoyed at Tenille, no one was speaking to her to be honest. And there were other girls involved in that argument, they just didn’t show the other girls backing Romy up, it just looked like it was Romy having the conversation with Tenille. If they showed three other girls backing up Romy, it’s not really going to work in Tenille’s favour, not really going to work in the whole villain storyline, so unfortunately that wasn’t shown to Australia. Which is, you know, it’s ok. It’s frustrating but that’s reality TV for you.

They also reckon Tenille knew EXACTLY what she was doing, and is very different off-camera. Here’s Cat:

The thing is as well, Tenille is very tactical in her approach on camera. She was really different behind closed doors. Yelling at girls, writing on her food – like you couldn’t have an avocado because she’d bloody written Tenille on it. Just weird behaviour. And also, there’s a normal exit from that cocktail party through the lounge room out the hallway, but she specifically ran to the side gate which is usually locked, past where Nick was sitting having a conversation with another girl. So it was all very calculated, and quite dramatic. It was pretty full on.

HECTIC. Look, every story has two sides. I’m sure Tenille’s take would have it’s own differences, and the woman looked genuinely upset by what went down. I doubt you can fake that level of sobbing.

But to be honest, I’m starting to wonder if Tenille is as angelic as she makes out. I mean, let’s remember that Rhiannon – someone entirely unconnected to the ~Three Horsewomen of the Apocalypse~ – also said that the house was pretty unhappy with Tenille, and it wasn’t just Romy having a bitchy, bullying go at her.

One thing’s for sure, this show KNOWS how to play us all. God damn you, Bachie! You’ve got me wrapped around your fingers, you dickheads.
