Robert Downey Jr. Spoke About Walking Out On That Ball Ache Of An Interview

If you’ve been following the ‘story’ thus far you will know that popular Hollywood actor and potentially great guy Robert Downey Jr. recently stepped out on an interview given on the press trail for big-budget Action/Adventure film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
(As was his right to do, as an autonomous human).

The other half of this situation was Channel 4 presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy who you may remember from pissing off Quentin Tarantino and subsequently having his butt shut down.

Guru-Murthey’s interview style works when he’s tackling important issues and uncovering uncomfortable truths but when it comes to celebrity interviews, his subjects are rich AF and pay people to make sure they don’t get spoken to like that. And on a basic human level, it really doesn’t seem necessary to goad interview subjects into a fight by prying needlessly into deeply personal issues. To quote RDJ: “The assumption is that there’s a button that because you’ve sat down there you’re going to be scrutinised like you’re a kiddy fiddler who is running for mayor.”

But it does get Channel 4 heaps of views on YouTube, meaning they get to keep operating. So.

RDJ with Howard Stern and Angie Martinez:

Bonus from the same interview: Stern’s interviews are frequently in-depth and interesting, especially his recent chat with Sia, and here RDJ is talking about Sarah Jessica Parker and their past together.
