Regé-Jean Page’s Next Gig Is The Dungeons & Dragons Movie That I’m Suddenly Interested In

Regé-jean page

Bridgerton babe Regé-Jean Page has locked in his next role following the absolute success of the Netflix series. This time, however, he’s set to star in Dungeons & Dragons, which is just a tad different to the high society of the ton.

Page, one of the breakout stars of the smash hit series, has appeared in a number of titles before Bridgerton, including For the People and Roots, but his role as the Duke of Hastings is arguably the one that catapulted him into the hearts and minds of many, read: my heart, my mind.

According to industry publication The Hollywood Reporter, Page has sealed the deal for a leading role in Dungeons & Dragons, an adaptation of the hugely beloved fantasy role-playing game.

The cast also includes Chris Pine (Wonder Woman), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious), and Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu).

The plot for the film is currently under wraps, so who knows what sort of campaign and characters it could feature.

Dungeons and Dragons was first adapted into a movie in 2000. I don’t remember anything from it, which either means it made no impression on me whatsoever, or I watched it, hated it, and banished it from my mind. I’m leaning towards the latter, to be honest.

Here’s hoping this latest version turns out better.

While we wait for more deets, you can always tune into episodes of Critical Rolea series in which very entertaining voice actors play the game. Sometimes Joe Manganiello drops by, ‘cos why not?

D&D aside, Page is set to host Saturday Night Live this weekend, which I’m sure will include some Bridgerton sketches. Surely, right?

On Tuesday, Netflix announced Sex Education‘s Simone Ashley will star as the leading lady of Bridgerton’s second season, opposite Anthony (Jonathan Bailey).

“Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, who will play Kate in season 2 of Bridgerton,” the streaming giant announced.

“Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools – Anthony Bridgerton very much included.”

Prepare thyself for the antics.

Bridgerton season 1 is streaming now on Netflix. There’s no news yet on when we can expect season 2, but we’ll keep you updated.
