Regé-Jean Page Confirms He Won’t Be In Bridgerton S2 & Why Do I Feel Like I Just Got Dumped

Regé-Jean Page

In news I am not taking very well, Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page will not – I repeat, will not – appear in the second season of the hit horny series on Netflix. I am UPSET.

Lady Whistledown delivered the crushing news to fans today, writing that we must bid adieu to Page, as we turn our eyes to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest to find a Viscountess.

“We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family,” Whistledown shared.

Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), however, will feature in the second season to help her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer.

Taking to his social media, Page shared that it has been an absolute pleasure to be “your Duke”.

“Joining this family – not just on screen, but off screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans – it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing,” he wrote.

I’m fine, I’m totally fine.

Page told Variety that a one-season arc in Bridgerton was always the plan.

“I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on,” he said.

Why do I feel like I’m being dumped?

On the bright side, however, Regé-Jean Page has a slew of new gigs lined up, including the new Dungeons & Dragons movie and Netflix’s The Gray Manco-starring Ryan GoslingChris Evans, and Ana de Armas.

As Lady Whistledown mentioned, season 2 of Bridgerton focuses on Anthony as he tries to settle down.

Sex Education’s Simone Ashley has been cast as his love interest, Kate Sharma, a headstrong, witty, and very direct woman who likes to tell it how it is.

Bridgerton is based on the eight-book series by author Julia Quinn, with each book focusing on a different Bridgerton sibling. Watch me hold out hope that Page will return in season 3.

Season 2 is expected to kick off filming soon, according to the cast. We’ll let you know when there’s a release date.

Until then, we can watch and rewatch the Duke of Hastings on Netflix now.

Or, you know…

Swoon.
