Spicy: There’s A Whole Bunch Of Ye Olde Tea Surrounding Regé-Jean Page’s Abrupt Bridgerton Exit

Fans of ye olde series Bridgerton were recently dealt the devastating news that mega hottie Regé-Jean Page would not be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings.

At the time, the actor wrote a stock standard goodbye to the show, but didn’t really explain why he was leaving.

In a post to Instagram, he wrote:

“Joining this family – not just on screen, but off screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans – it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing.”

Since then, I’ve heard many a whisper about his shock departure and it sounds like there was quite a bit of drama behind-the-scenes that rivals the actual drama on the show, TBH.

A sneaky source told Page Six that apparently Regé-Jean Page quit the show over “creative differences” with television mastermind Shonda Rhimes. Woof.

“Regé is not coming back to ‘Bridgerton’ because of creative differences with [executive producer] Shonda Rhimes and her team,” the source told the publication.

The sneaky goss guru added, “He wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for Season 2, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show.”

The insider claims that since yeeting himself from the show, the actor has been “inundated with offers for other interesting and challenging leading roles.”

Now, an insider has written in to goss Insta Deuxmoi, claiming that his exit cause a whole lotta scandal and apparently they’ve changed the contracts of the other actors so they don’t have a repeat offence.

The anonymous tipster writes that Regé quit the show, rather than being sacked, adding that they were so despo to keep him that they “even offered him a serious salary hike” which would make him “the highest-paid actor in the season” even though he wasn’t even the main character, but he “still turned them down.”

“They are having the rest of the cast sign new contracts with cameo options to prevent them disappearing like this down the line,” they added.

Now that’s some spicy as fuck tea!
