Way back in 2014, Gina Liano – real housewife of Melbourne and actual, very serious criminal defence barrister – filmed a pilot for a legal show that was touted as Australia’s answer to Judge Judy.
Judge Gina – or whatever name they decided to go with – was being produced by Eddie McGuire‘s McGuire Media, and was under consideration for Foxtel, and we were positively dripping with anticipation at the thought.
Months went by, however, and there was no further word, so we assumed that the project was dead in the water. This week, however, Gina gave us new hope, telling a Daily Telegraph reporter that it might still be a goer.
When asked about the show, she responded:
‘I know how to get the information out of them that I will need to make a decision. A couple of networks are looking at it at the moment and there will be discussion fairly soon, so it is still on the boil and it would be a lot of fun.’
TV gods, if you’re listening, please, please, please give this woman a gavel and let her dole out some big-haired justice.
We’ll continue cloaking ourselves in Gina’s signature scent until we hear further word.
