Fleabag Queen And Future Action Star Phoebe Waller Bridge Has Joined The Cast Of Indiana Jones 5

Phoebe Waller Bridge

Queen Phoebe Waller Bridge has joined the cast of Indiana Jones 5, and just like that, I am extremely excited for Indiana Jones 5, a collection of words I truly never thought I would write in 2021.

Production company Lucasfilm announced the news in a press release overnight, saying that Phoebe Waller Bridge will join Harrison Ford in the newest instalment of the franchise.

There is obviously no word on who the actress will play or what her character will be, but I’m hoping that this film will be a passing of the torch and we’ll get to see her in a proper action role.

Sorry to this 78-year-old man, but at this point, I would much rather see Harrison Ford in some kind of wise mentor role with a queen of pop like Phoebe taking center stage. I guess we’ll find out!

Iconic composer John Williams will write the score, while Logan director James Mangold has been tapped to take over from Steven Spielberg. Mangold said of the film:

“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers. Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

Earlier this year, it was announced that Phoebe Waller Bridge is adapting the 2005 film Mr And Mrs Smith as an Amazon TV show alongside Donald Glover.

I’m excited to see her sardonic take on this story about a pair of married assassins who are hired to kill each-other, and love that she is swerving more into action and adventure-style roles.
