Pete Davidson’s Mum Reportedly Wasn’t Happy About His Engagement To Ariana

While you’d think that most parents would be thrilled with the idea of having queen Ariana Grande as their daughter-in-law (private concerts at every family BBQ, ftw), it turns out Pete Davidson‘s mother wasn’t too happy about the news that he had popped the question to the singer.

A Davidson family friend told Us Weekly that the SNL host’s mama Amy Waters Davidson wasn’t a fan of her son’s relationship at first and it took her some time to warm to the idea.

“Pete’s mother was very nervous about his relationship with Ariana when they started dating,” says the insider.

“She knows her son goes through manic episodes and thought he was rushing into a relationship and would wind up getting hurt.”

Apparently she was concerned that if the relationship went sour, her son “would become very, very depressed and resort to self-harm.”

However as the months have passed and Ari and Pete have proven that their relationship is legit, Pete’s mother has become a fan of Ari.

“Pete’s mum has grown to love Ariana and can see how much she loves Pete,” the family friend adds. “It has gotten better now that she knows Ariana better.”

Meanwhile another source told the publication that the pair’s gotten closer and closer over the course of their three-month relationship.

“They are a perfect fit and they are very in love,” another source told the publication. “They are both constantly making each other laugh,” the insider added.

Sounds like queen Ari’s proven herself to mama Davidson.
