Meanwhile on Saturday Night Live, Pete Davidson just copped a big ol’ roast by newly-elected Congressman Dan Crenshaw, a military veteran.

Crenshaw, a lieutenant commander who lost his eye in Afghanistan in 2012, was the target of Davidson’s joke in last week’s episodeDavidson joked the Republican looked like a “hitman in a porno”.

As Entertainment Weekly reported, Davidson quickly apologised at the time saying: “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”

This week on the show, Davidson backed up that apology with a proper and sincere one: “In what I’m sure was a huge shock for people who know me, I made a bad choice last week.”

“On behalf of the show and myself, I apologise,” he said. “From the bottom of my heart, it was a poor choice of words, the man is a war hero, he deserves all the respect in the world and if any good came of this, it’s that maybe for one day – the left and right finally came together to agree on something: that I’m a dick.”

Right on cue, Crenshaw suddenly appeared and thanked Davidson for making a Republican look good.”

Then, just as the politician accepted Davidson’s apology, his phone went off and guess what his ringtone was? ‘Breathin’ by Ariana goddamn Grande.

Davidson’s face says it all.

Crenshaw took it a step further by asking, “Oh, do you know her?” HOO BOY.

If that wasn’t enough of a stinging payback, Davidson invited the pollie to roast the hell out of him by taking part in First Impressions

“This is Pete Davidson,” Crenshaw said kicking it off. “He looks like if the meth from ‘Breaking Bad’ was a person.”

OOOOOOOOOOOFT.

But when Davidson quite happily said, “There, now we’re even,” Crenshaw kept it going.

“He looks like a troll doll with a tape worm.”

One moreee: “He looks like Martin Schulz in ‘The Santa Clause 3,” Crenshaw said. “By the way, one of these people are actually good on ‘SNL’.”

You can catch the First Impressions segment below, but since SNL‘s YouTube is still not available in Australia, you can find the full video on The Daily Beast.
