20 Y.O. Paparazzi Banned From Virgin Australia After Hassling Sophie Monk

One of Australia’s youngest and most persistent paparazzi types has been banned from flying with Virgin Australia, after exploiting the airline’s Sydney self-service check-in terminals to badger The Bachelorette figures Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy.

Late last month, Jayden Seyfarth, 20, used Virgin Australia’s check-in terminals to print Monk’s boarding pass and gain access to Sydney airport’s Virgin VIP lounge. He reportedly yelled a string of questions when the couple made an appearance.

Virgin Australia’s terminals only require a surname and a flight destination to print a boarding pass, and Seyfarth admitted he exploited this security measure before the couple’s post-Bachelorette finale flight to Melbourne for a scheduled interview on The Project.

Seyfarth yesterday uploaded a photo to his Instagram story displaying a letter from Virgin Australia, which says that they are aware of the security breach and have indefinitely restricted him from using the airline.

While the letter says Seyfarth was banned from October 30, Seyfarth added a caption claiming “lols flew [Virgin Australia] yesterday their security measures are top notch.”

A later Instagram story post appears to show Seyfarth just outside the Virgin VIP lounge in Melbourne. It is unclear when exactly the photograph was taken.

The Daily Telegraph reports the Australian Federal Police are still looking into the Monk incident. Should Seyfarth be charged with travelling or attempting to travel under a false name, he could face actual jail time.

FWIW, Seyfarth has made himself one of the nation’s more notable – and notorious – celebrity followers.

Earlier this year, Seyfarth publicly outed former Married At First Sight contestant Cheryl Maitland for allegedly trying to fabricate a ‘candid’ paparazzi shot. When Kylie Jenner’s friend Pia Mia refused to stop for a picture with Seyfarth in 2015, he told her “I hope your plane crashes.”
