FINALLY. Donald Glover‘s now Golden Globe-winning series ‘Atlanta‘ is coming to Australia.
The first season of Glover’s show about a young wannabe agent managing his cousin’s burgeoning rap career picked up the Best TV Series, Comedy/Musical at yesterday’s award show, the first time an FX series was ever even nominated in the category. Glover, who writes, produces and stars in the show, picked up the Best Actor in a Comedy.
“This is incredible,” he said when accepting the award yesterday. “I want to thank Atlanta and all the black folks in Atlanta, for real. For being alive and being amazing people.”
And in our own, equally prestigious ranking, it topped PEDESTRIAN.TV‘s best TV shows of 2016.
The fact that it wasn’t available in Australia? Criminal.
The GOOD news is that somebody, finally, has decided to pick it up: SBS.
The broadcaster tweeted yesterday that ‘Atlanta’ was coming soon to SBS, SBS Viceland and SBS On Demand, so soon you’ll be able to get amongst what everybody else is witnessing – and also, legally and for free. Double whammy.
