Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker in Star Wars has outed himself as either a fan of Ariana Grande, or just a 67-year-old bloke whose long hours spent on Twitter every day mean he like, gets the zeitgeist. One of those two.

A fan of the franchise was angling to get the title of Episode IX, the sequel to 2017’s The Last Jedi out of Hamill, because she’s already hyped as hell.

But Hamill was not going to be mind-tricked so easily. He posted a screencap of the request, followed by a mock-up movie poster, seemingly revealing the name of the next flick – if you ignore the “#SorryNotSorry” caption.
“Star Wars Episode IX: Thank U, Next.”
Sounds perfect to me.

It’s okay though, the original poster loved being subtweeted.

What we do know about Episode IX is that it will feature unreleased footage of the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia from the The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens, with permission from Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd, and brother Todd Fisher. Filming kicked off in August last year, with J.J. Abrams directing.
Alongside the cast of the former flicks, Billy Dee Williams, last seen as Lando Calrissian in Return of the Jedi in 1983, Keri Russell and Matt Smith are all slated to feature.
The movie’s scheduled for release in December this year.
Back in November last year, Hamill unwittingly tweeted out the name of Grande’s hit song, much to Grande’s excitement. He later admitted someone else suggested he write that, and he had no idea what it meant. It’s okay, though, he caught up, and was totally on board with the young lady’s ‘Thank U, Next‘ video clip.

In other Grande news, the Star Wars fan earlier today announced the release date and cover art for her next, highly anticipated single, ‘7 Rings‘. It’s a week from now, and we’re pumped.

Hamill meanwhile has spent the beginning of 2019 creating do-it-yourself ‘Happy birthday’ posts, because he cannot keep up with your demand for well wishes. This is not a joke: he’s actually doing it.
Attention [Your Name Here]-It’s the 2nd of my 10-day “Tweet Then Delete, Do-It-Yourself #HAPPYBIRTHDAY Pic-Clearance Extravaganza!”(need to work on editing that title) When these Pics are gone-they’re gone FOREVER!

As [Your Name Here] awaits tomorrow’s FINAL “Do-It-Yourself” #HBD Pic, consider this puzzlement: Parents love us deeply (& without them we wouldn’t be here), yet how often do they complicate, or sometimes even ruin our birthdays?

To conclude/because it’s Friday, here’s pictures of Hamill and his many, many dogs.
