Disney‘s D23 Expo has already given us more than enough to be excited about this weekend, but they just gave us a little extra, dropping a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars show The Mandalorian.
The series, which is set to stream on the Disney+ service when it launches in November, takes place five years after the events of Return Of The Jedi, which saw the destruction of the republic.
The central character is a gunslinger from the far reaches of the galaxy, played by Pedro Pascal of Game Of Thrones. You can get your first look at the show below:
Jon Favreau, who created The Mandalorian, told D23 attendees that the story takes place in a world where “chaos reigns”. He added that “it’s a world like the old samurai movies and westerns.”
Taika Waititi, who directed an episode of the show and voices the droid IG-11, said:
“I just want to say that for droid representation, it was very important for me that those characters get enough screen time. They’re very misunderstood.”
Disney+ launches in Australia on November 19, a week after the US.
