If you’re still heartbroken over the whole Paolo situation in the iconic Lizzie McGuire movie, you’re not alone because Hilary Duff reckons our gal Liz wouldn’t be too keen if he made a cameo in the reboot.
It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions ever since the Lizzie McGuire reboot was first announced, but the question we’ve all been dying to know is whether her former Italian fling would be making an appearance in the reboot.
Before the show announced a hiatus earlier this year, Hilary confirmed that Lizzie and Gordo definitely *wouldn’t* end up together.
“Ah! I feel like them not being together is what was so good,” she told Vulture back in September. “It’s that one person that you’re like, Was he the one? Is it ever going to be? You’re always kind of wondering. We wanted it to hurt everyone a little bit, and it’ll continue to hurt.”
So far we know that she’s definitely engaged, and it’s definitely *not* to Gordo, which means there’s still a slight possibility that her and Paolo rekindled their Italian romance.
But the woman who knows her best, Hilary Duff, reckons Lizzie wouldn’t be too stoked if Paolo made an appearance.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she shared her thoughts on the possibility of a cameo from two of the post iconic characters, Paolo and Miranda.
“There were plans for a lot of people to be in the show. So, um, I already know some of those things but I don’t know about Paolo. I think she’d probably be pretty mad to see him.”
Hilary, I think you’re right.
Let’s not forget how Paolo betrayed our girl Lizzie in an attempt to screw over his singing partner Isabella. Thankfully, Disney gave us the ultimate girl power moment we needed between Lizzie and Isabella (also played by Hilary Duff). But let’s not get it mistaken: Paolo was an absolute fuckboy and frankly, Lizzie McGuire deserves better.
We don’t want to see Paolo again, Lizzie doesn’t want to see Paolo again, nobody want to see Paolo and his stupid sexy face ever again.
Give Lizzie the attractive, loving, non-fuckboy fiancee she deserves.
