Lindsay Lohan Still Reckons GTA V Stole Her Image, Lawsuit Going Ahead

So here’s something we haven’t heard about in a while. Lindsay Lohan filed a lawsuit in July 2014 against Take-Two Games, the distributor of the insanely popular Grand Theft Auto series of video games, claiming that they stole her likeness for the box art and an in-game character in their latest entry Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013.

Now it’s actually going forward, long after everyone has kinda forgotten about both GTA V and probably Lohan too. Anyone who has played the game knows that the case is pretty circumstantial, but there’s maaaaybe something there. Regardless, it’s proceeding to a full hearing.
Basically, it hinges on this:
That, in case you forgot your glasses, is Lohan on the left and the game box art on the right. The character is named Lacey Jonas, and while not appearing at all in the main game story, is a publicity-obsessed young starlet constantly pursued by the media. Sound familiar? Lindsay reckons it does.
Lohan also claims there are Mean Girls references peppered throughout the game, and also the appearance of a West Hollywood hotel in which Lohan once lived. The game is set in Los Santos, a kind of twisted parody of Los Angeles, so the developers probably have a defence on that one.
The developers defence maintains that the character is not based on her, and that Lohan is only filing the case for publicity.
