Kylie Jenner, who calls herself a self-made billionaire, has called upon her fans to contribute to a crowdfunding effort for her makeup artist Samuel Rauda‘s brain surgery and babe, you’re richer than all of us.
Jenner took to Instagram to share the fundraiser, urging fans to “swipe up” to donate.
“May God watch over you and protect you @makeupbysamuel everyone take a moment to say a prayer for Sam who got into an accident this past weekend. And swipe up to visit his families go fund me,” she wrote on Instagram.
According to the GoFundMe, her makeup artist had brain surgery on Sunday after being thrown from a moving car, but – as we all know too well – the American healthcare system is an absolute shitshow and any sort of major operation is pricey.
“Sam underwent major surgery on Sunday, 3/14/21. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him. I know he is loved by many. Your donations will help cover the cost of his medical expenses and what’s to come. Please know that a donation of any amount is greatly appreciated,” the GoFundMe page reads.
However, fans were quick to point out that Kylie – who makes $19,000USD per hour – has the means to cover the costs of his medical expenses, rather than asking her fans to.
How in the cinnamon toast fuck is Kylie Jenner asking for donations for her make up artist when she’s a goddamn billionaire. Is that broad for real

It’s unclear if Kylie actually donated, but her name (which is unverified) is attached to a $5,000USD donation, alongside Bella Thorne ($5,000USD) and HudaBeauty founder Huda Kattan ($10,000USD).
Some fans were quick to defend Jenner, saying that she should be praised for her apparent $5,000 donation. However, people were quick to point out that $5,000USD is the equivalent cost of a fancy latte for Jenner, who makes $450,000USD per day.
Folks are defending Kylie Jenner by pointing out she donated $5,000 to her makeup artist’s medical GoFundMe. Her net worth is $900M.
So, that’s 0.000006% of her net worth.
If your net worth were, say, $100k, it would be like donating 56 cents.

Others pointed out that the situation illustrates a major problem with the American healthcare system because it seemingly shows that Jenner’s MUA doesn’t have health insurance.

I hope this Kylie Jenner situation makes it very clear that when the Kardashians act like they “donate behind the scenes” and “do good that we don’t see,” it’s simply not true. They don’t donate shit, I promise.

Perhaps America could afford a free universal health insurance scheme a la Medicare if the Government adequately taxed the rich. Just sayin’.

At the time of publishing, the GoFundMe fundraiser is at $98,000 of its $120,000 goal.
Jenner is yet to publicly comment on the backlash.
