Well this is… uh, yeah.
This morning on the TODAY show, hosts Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson were naturally talking about the just announced Golden Logie nominees, which include cult TV personalities Lee Lin Chin and Waleed Aly. These noms, as well as being absolutely well-deserved, also make this the first time in recent memory that the entire nominee list hasn’t been blindingly white.

But when he and Lisa discussed the multicultural line-up this year (the other nominees are Carrie Bickmore, Scott Cam, Essie Davis and Grant Denyer), this got a little… icky.
“I might look white on the outside but I’m dark on the inside,” said Karlos.
“I know you are, and with that spray tan you’re dark on the outside, too,” replied guest Ben Fordham.
Chat then turned instead to Lisa, and why she didn’t get a nomination this year.
“Where is Lisa Wilkinson’s Gold Logie?” asked Ben.
Not… great, is it.
